Because I’d like to place samples of a couple of my short stories on my website, I’m thinking about podcasting readings of a couple of them. But I’m not sure if this would affect my ability to sell First North American serial rights. I assume it would be totally legal to sell those rights after podcasting the stories – assuming I didn’t post the text online – but this is a case in which assumptions will not be enough. Anyone know for sure? Even if it would be legal, is it probable that editors would not take a story that has been podcast but that hasn’t been published as a text?
Does podcasting affect printing rights?
